Naniwa 8000 Grit Gouken Fuji Traditional Water Stone
- Superior Finish on Hard Steels
- Ideal for Wood Working Tools
- Perfect for Knives made of VG10, ZDP189, or Similar Steels
The T-980 Naniwa 8000 Grit Gouken Waterstone for Hard Steels is similar to the 8000 grit in the Naniwa Traditional line of stones, but it has been formulated to have more grinding power. This increased grinding capability makes it well suited for very hard steels.
According to Naniwa, the T-980 Gouken Fuji Traditional Water Stone has increased grinding power and stays flatter longer, making it particularly useful for very hard steels such as VG10, powdered HSS, ZDP189, etc. The Gouken Fuji delivers a superior high polish on these steels and is recommended for chisels, planes and other wood working tools as well as knives made of these particularly hard steels.
Each stone measures 8 1/4" long, 2 3/4" wide and 3/4" thick. The stone is thick enough to provide many years of sharpening.
The Gouken Fuji Stone has a similar composition to the Naniwa Traditional Water Stones, which are an excellent balance between price and features. You get the quality and attention that Naniwa gives all their stones, but don't have to pay the higher price of their more expensive lines of stones. Unlike the Advance Super Stones these have a traditional bonding that absorbs water. We recommend soaking before use.
Made in Japan.
