The highest grade stone from Naniwa, now in a compact size.

Naniwa Professional Stones (sometimes called the New Chosera) are one of the most sought after water stone lines available. They are consistent and quick to sharpen with excellent feedback, making them a pleasure to use. Many serious sharpeners regard the Professional line as having the best stones available. And now this premium line of sharpening stones is available in a compact size.

Pocket Sized
The Naniwa Pocket Pro Stones are 135 x 45 x 15mm. This roughly translates to 5 1/4" long x 1 3/4" wide x 1/2" thick. This size is perfect for smaller knives and tools, and is easily portable as well.

Coarse to Fine
We stock the Naniwa Pocket Pro stones in 400, 600, 800, 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000 grits. This range covers coarse, medium and fine needs.

Magnesia Bonding
What makes the Pocket Pro and full size Professional stones different from other water stones is the bonding. Naniwa calls it Magnesia Bonding in comparison to the Resin bonding of their Superstone series. One of the main features of the Magnesia Bonding process is greater density and consistency of finely graded abrasive particles. This gives the stone the fastest sharpening capability among our water stones. Experienced users can really feel a difference with these stones.

Splash and Go
Soaking the Pocket Pro stones is not recommended. A quick dunk in water, removing them after less than a minute, or spraying them several times over the coarse of a minute or so is all that's required. We do recommend keeping a spray bottle handy to keep the stones wet while sharpening.

Made in Japan.
