At what angle do you sharpen a Swiss Army Knife?

At what angle do you sharpen a Swiss Army Knife?

Victorinox recommends sharpening your Swiss Army Knife at 15-20 degrees per side. If you’re going to be using your pocket knife for delicate slicing tasks, like cutting fruit or slicing open envelopes, then pick an angle closer to 15 degrees. If you’re taking your Swiss Army Knife out into the woods and you’re whittling, occasionally processing small game, or just generally being rougher with it, sharpen closer to 20 degrees.

Sharpening by hand requires a bit of practice to get used to these angles. You can use guides to help you get a feel for these different angles. Otherwise guided sharpeners, like the Work Sharp Professional Precision Adjust picture below, will clamp your knife and place and let you select the exact angle you want to sharpen at.
